报告人简介:

Dr Lina Stankovic is a Senior Lecturer in the Dept. of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, UK. She obtained her PhD at Lancaster University, UK in 2003. She is a Senior Member of IEEE, an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Peer Review College member, with over 120 research papers in peer-reviewed intl. journals and conference proceedings. She has been awarded £1M in European Union H2020, EPSRC, Scottish Funding Council and industrial grants to support her research in data science methods for the energy, food life cycle and civil infrastructure maintenance sectors. She actively contributes to energy efficiency programmes such as the Int. Conf. on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting, and the 21st century standards and labelling programmes at the IEA.

内容提要:

ICT-driven smart buildings, including intelligent transport and parking, are instrumental for the realisation of the future liveable city concept: resource consumption reduction, improved working comfort levels, cost savings through smarter energy use and smarter connectivity. The main challenges lie in the technology and lack of demonstrated practice and business models. This talk discusses ongoing research efforts in tackling these challenges, in the context of our new 4 year H2020 SENSIBLE project (involving 11 academic and industrial partners from EU, Canada, Australia, Japan, and China), coordinated by the University of Strathclyde which has a significant portfolio of Future Cities research.
